Reflections

Grand Theft Auto V represented a massive expansion of my ownership, design capabilities, and scope of responsibility. Operating at this level of AAA development allowed me to push my executional boundaries and prove what I could handle on one of the biggest stages in entertainment.

However, the sheer velocity of the project came with an intense toll on work-life balance. Ultimately, navigating those relentless demands provided vital clarity on how I wanted to build games long-term. It led to my decision to transition away from Rockstar and join Bungie, driven by a desire to bring my expanded skill set into a development culture where I could balance high-caliber design execution with sustainable team leadership.

That said, the sheer talent and camaraderie of that team is something I look back on with immense fondness. I am incredibly proud of what we achieved together, and I would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with Rockstar and my former colleagues again down the road.
